mid-17th Century blade fitted on Victorian period (1908) grip, guard and pommel

Provenance: Germany. 

Condition: very good

Straight, double-edged blade of hexagonal section with rhombic cross-section, star-shaped, pierced guard plate with cut finger guards and crossguard. Wire-wrapped grip with diamond-shaped decoration and a spirally cut pommel with a small parrying knob. Length 102cm.
