( Sale Sword ) Gothic blackened longsword (#98967)

Relative condition: 8/10

Structural integrity: 10/10

Reason of sale: The sword is made with various parts that have not passed our quality control. There are pits on the guard and some blemishes where the grip meets the guard (see image gallery for details). These are aesthetic issues that do not affect the sword’s structural integrity. The sword is fully functional and can be used for cutting tests and combat.

Inspired by authentic late 15th-century European arming traditions, this 15th Century Blackened Gothic Bastard Sword captures the martial refinement and aggressive geometry of the High Gothic period. Treated with a full dark patina across its fittings and blade, this piece pairs imposing presence with exceptional handling characteristics. In the hand, it is remarkably fast, responsive, and balanced for effortless point control and powerful rotational strikes.

Hand-forged from dual-tempered 5160 high carbon steel, the blade features a robust 5-inch squared ricasso, allowing the wielder to “choke up” or wrap a finger over the guard for close-quarter thrusting techniques. A deep central fuller extends through 3/4 of the blade’s total length, significantly reducing overall mass while preserving rigid structural integrity along the central spine.
