(Sale Sword ) Composite Longsword (#98933)

Relative condition: 7/10

Structural integrity: 10/10

Throughout history, swords were not always born from a single planned design. Smithies would often create “composite” weapons—assembling high-quality blades with hilts and pommels from different productions to create unique, one-off sidearms. This composite longsword follows that age-old tradition.

Reason of sale: This longsword is made with components left over from previous production runs. By combining these disparate parts, we’ve created a longsword that is historically evocative, structurally sound, and entirely unique. There are minor wear marks on the blade and fittings.

Historical Inspiration: The sword features a quintessential Oakeshott Type XVIII blade, a design that rose to prominence in the 15th century. These blades were developed to counter the increasing prevalence of plate armor, featuring a stiff, diamond-shaped cross-section and a sharp, acute point for thrusting, while maintaining enough width for devastating cuts. In hand, the sword feels very responsive and light.
