The Skuggi ("Shadow")

When the lone wolf prowls through moonlit forests, it is not truly alone. For in those quiet moments between heartbeats, its shadow dances alongside – a faithful companion that neither speaks nor strays. The shadow moves as the wolf moves, a silent guardian that stands watch when the wolf rests, and stretches long and fierce when the wolf rises to face its foes.

The Skuggi is the shadow to the Eindride sword – shorter in length but no less deadly, quiet but ever-present. Where the Eindride represents the overt strength of the lone wolf, the Skuggi embodies its cunning and stealth. This dagger's aged bronze guard whispers tales of twilight packs, its pattern subtly echoing the larger sword's design but with wolf tracks rather than heads – a reminder that even when walking alone, we leave our mark upon the world.

The Anduril Dagger (#1828)

More a short sword than a true dagger, the Anduril Dagger is a companion piece to our version of the most famous sword from The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The 21 inch blade is marked with elvish runes exactly the same as the full size Anduril sword, though as the runes are smaller and on a smaller steel canvas they appear even more intricate. The double-edged single fullered blade leads to miniature versions of the Anduril fittings developed by Darksword Armory, including the White Tree of Gondor on the tips of the pommel and guard. The beautifully detailed leather handle completes the piece and sets it apart as a true weapon in its own right. Whether alone or paired with its larger version, the Anduril Dagger is a formidable weapon and exquisite work of art by the talented hands that work our forge.

Alexandria Dagger

Companion piece to our Alexandria sword, one of our most popular weapons based on a true historical model, the Alexandria dagger is a classic early 15th century design. The short (11"), double-edged blade has a diamond cross section, making it a stiff and unyielding weapon designed to be terribly effective at thrusting. The straight steel guard is a small version of the Alexandria swords guard with the distinctive swept tips that could catch the blade of an opponent. The classic wheel pommel is a twin to the one on the dagger's larger cousin. The Oxblood leather handle and sheath are eye-catching in their quality, marking this as the daily carry of a wealthy individual. Alone or with the Alexandria sword, this dagger is an excellent piece to be proud of in your collection.

Inspired by Glamdring, the sword of Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings films, The Sage Dagger is a companion weapon to one of the more famous fantasy swords in recent times. This leaf bladed dagger is a light and powerful piece that is more than just a smaller version of a larger sword – it is a true weapon in its own right, with 12 in of blade and 1 lb 5 oz of weight behind it. Despite being a fantasy dagger, the Sage has been designed and crafted for actual use and combat. The dagger handles beautifully. It is a very responsive sword that feels “alive” , light yet powerful. The relatively wide leaf shaped blade feels like it can deliver damaging blows to anything in it's path, while keeping a look of grace. The Squire dagger, companion to the Squire Sword, is designed with those apprentice knights in mind. A mid-length, double-edged blade crafted from tempered 5160 spring steel provides a durable and resilient striking edge. The blade has a 3/4 length fuller. The simple, curved guard sets this dagger apart from the standard cruciform hilt sword, and the wheel pommel is a classic design. What sets this dagger apart, is its handling. Weighing 1 lbs, the Squire is a startlingly fast and responsive dagger. In the hands of a growing apprentice knight, the Squire would be a suitable training or combat weapon; in your hands, it would be a lively dagger that begs to be put through its paces.

“The Fiore” German Main-Gauche Parrying Dagger (1823)

Based on a German Main-gauche at the Royal Armouries, in Leeds, (1580-1620)

Parrying daggers are a mainstay of European Renaissance fencing. Held in the off hand, the parrying dagger (or “main gauche”) allowed duelists to fight two handed against each other. Skilled fencers would use the parrying dagger in conjunction with a rapier for maximum effect. As these daggers were as much a part of a gentleman’s daily costume as they were for self defence they were often beautifully decorated as well as skillfully made. This design is based on a surviving late 16th, early 17th German example currently located in the Leeds Museum. It is named for master Italian fencer Fiore dei Libiri, author of Fior di Battaglia and Trattato della scherma.
