Absolutely beautiful work.

I've recently been fascinated with the Norman Conquest, and as primarily a "history enthusiast" I wanted a sword that would be instantly familiar to a soldier or warrior living at that time.

This sword does not disappoint. I repeat myself, but this is a beautiful piece. The detailing on the pommel and guard is excellent, intricate but subtle. The scabbard and interlaced belt are solidly constructed and compliment the sword very well. It's a small thing, but the maker's mark is also quite aesthetically pleasing and enhances the look of the blade in my opinion.

Beyond the aesthetic qualities, it's a well balanced, useable piece. Very solid cutter with proper edge alignment. Anyone alive in the 11th century would've been happy to have this.

Delivery was ahead of schedule and the sword was very well secured in transit. This was my first DSA sword but it won't be my last.

I received this sword and to say my expectations were exceeded would be an understatement I have been collecting swords and other weapons since I was 11 years old and this is one of the finest I have gotten from the pommel to the tip this blade is wonderful it feels both light and heavy when swinging I have tested the blade on something it was specifically meant for a tatami mat which is meant for katana but can be cut none the less and this made it seem like butter I can say it's edge held up well and it will be a great piece for anyone's collection I only have one "gripe" as it was of no fault of the maker the interlaced belt on the scabbard was just a bit long as I am quite skinny but since it's made of leather and can be adjusted it was really only a small bump in the road overall I would highly reccomend this sword to everyone it also being a replica of a real life sword found in a tomb makes feel like preserving a piece of history

I received my 11th century Viking Suontaka sword two weeks ago. Wow. This is the first I have purchased in over fifteen years. In high school I had purchased more or less wall hanger swords by other companies. This my first REAL sword. I wanted a sword that was mostly historically accurate but more importantly a sword that is built like a tank that when if we ran out of bullets during the zombie apocalypse (humor), you could fall back on this. Strong and beautiful is the simplest way to describe this sword. My renewed interest in swords came about when the whole AncestryDNA thing came along and I discovered I had a pretty extensive Viking/Norman heritage. So, I will most likely be picking up one of the Darksword Norman options in the next couple of months. Thank you to everybody at Darksword Armory. I will be getting with y'all again in the very near future.
