Marto Ivanhoe Sword (# 539)

The sword of Ivanhoe, by Marto swords, commemorates the literary hero of Sir Walter Scott's classic novel by the same name. Originally published in 1820, Sir Walter Scott’s novel heightened international interest in the medieval world. 

Ivanhoe tells the story of the remaining Saxon noble families at a time when the nobility in England was mainly Norman. The novel is set in 1194, after the failure of the third Crusade, and recounts the story of Ivanhoe and his strained relationship with his father due to Ivanhoe’s allegiance to the Norman king Richard the Lionheart.

Ivanhoe sword was used in the Highlander TV series, as the sword of Methos.
