  • An Illustrated History of Arms & Armour - by Auguste Demmin. Well drawn illustrations of various weapons and armors. Very good examination of armor typology, armor parts, helmets, spurs, medieval swords and Rapiers.
  • Ancient Armour and Weapons - by Francis Grose. Plates taken at the Tower of London. An interesting treatise about medieval swords and their makers. Interesting sections on the cost of swords and armor repair during the middle ages (see page 119). Images of Swords and Armors are found after page 134.
  • Ancient Armour & Weapons in Europe - by John Hewitt. Treatise on the development of the sword from the iron age to the end of the thirteenth century, with strong emphasis on medieval swords and armors.
  • Armour & Weapons (1909) -by Charles FFoulkes. Informative source on medieval swords and armors. First part of the book focuses mainly on the development of the medieval armor with the start of chainmail. The second part focuses on medieval swords and other weapons of the medieval and renaissace period (page 104).
  • Armour in England - by J. Starkie Gardner. Beautifully illustrated book about English armors during the middle ages.
  • Arms & Armor in Antiquity & The Middle Ages - by Charles Boutell. Interesting treaties examining the development of arms & armor from the Bronze age to the 16th century.
  •  Arts and Crafts in the Middle Ages -

  • British And Foreign Arms and Armour - by Charles Henry Ashdown. Focuses on the weapons of prehistoric man until the introduction of gunpowder. This volume presents interesting illustrations, among them is a rare sallet (page 96).
  • Educational Charts of Arms & Armour - A must for all collectors! This informative booklet explains patters among swords and Armors and places them in typological paradigms. Beautifully illustrated.  Covers all aspects of European Swords and Armors, including helmets, breastplates, gauntlets, shields, pole arms, crossbows. Sword collectors will find page 15 of particular interest.
  • Foreign Armour in England - by J.S. Gardner. Well illustrated book focusing solely on armors made by smiths other than British. Illustrates some very interesting pieces, particularly on pages 35, 53 and 71
